Terms of UPS supplementary insurance:

  • Cost of this insurance to the client: 1% of the value of the package
  • Maximum coverage: USD 50,000 per package
  • Coverage without insurance: CHF 7.20/kg

UPS bans or severely restricts the transport of the following goods:

  • Alcoholic beverages (non-domestic)
  • Articles of exceptional value (e.g., works of art, antiques, precious stones, gold and silver)
  • Hazardous goods/materials
  • Firearms
  • Furs
  • Ivory and derived products
  • Live animals
  • Cash and negotiable instruments
  • Perishable goods
  • Personal effects (except if shipped to the United States)
  • Plants
  • Pornographic articles
  • Seeds
  • Stamps of exceptional value
  • Tobacco and tobacco products
  • Unaccompanied baggage
